Just like Jim Smiley had done the young man had taken on a challenge and jump right in and started creating his master piece on that old type writer that was sitting up on a shelf.
As he continued to work on his master piece the young man would go down to the main street book store to research some of the novels written by great authors of time past.
It was at the book store that he came across a short story by Mark Twain about the celebrated jumping frog of Calaveras County. He wanted his story to be as great as Mark Twain’s story.
